RE: Any gas TV's over 100k miles?

140K on my 1996 K1500. 2 intake manifold gaskets and a transmission at 60K. Still runs and drives like new. It idles so smoothly I sometimes glance at the tach to be sure it's actually running.
Not a tow vehicle but 220K on my 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with original 360 V8 and auto transmission. Not putting many miles on it these days at 8.5 mpg!

Running these on my Chevy 1/2 ton. So far, so good. Wet traction and ride is excellent. Tire noise is greatly reduced from the Yokohama Geolanders I replaced. With less than 5K on them I can't comment on wear.

The Geolander AT was a poor match for my truck. Wet traction was terrible and tread wear was just average. Road noise was horrific from day one.

Both SB 6923 and SB6900 would have the unintended consequence keeping older large displacement vehicles on the road past the point when they would normally be retired.
It would force owners to reconsider the option of having engines rebuilt instead of replacing vehicles with new ones that adhere to more strict emission and fuel mileage requirements.

RE: 1995 chevy door problems!

I recently had the same problem with my 96 chev. I believe the interior design is pretty much the same between 95 and 96.
You can purchase the handle assy. from NAPA or online - they're not at all expensive.
Per Buzzman, removing the door panel isn't difficult. You'll also have to take off the plastic trim that encircles the inside handle. Be careful removing this as the plastic ears that fasten it to the door handle can be broken easily.
If I remember correctly, the handle itself is fastened to the door with a rivet.
It's really ugly trying to work with the rods and linkage inside the door. I've had to replace both exterior door handles, the lock cylinders and the driver's side interior handle. The job would be easy if your hands were the size of a child's and your arms were made of rubber.
If you have a low tolerance for frustration I suggest taking it to a shop.
